THE Bird and THE Hammer

The Story

A one-act experimental drama about the Body and Mind exploring their relationship with one another. I personified the human mind and body as a couple. Their interactions unfold in different settings, such as a home, the doctor's office, and even a forest. While they manifest as distinct individuals, their intentions remain the same.

My aim with this play is to challenge the audience to decipher which character represents the mind and which embodies the body. Through this exercise, I hope to foster awareness of the disconnect that often exists between our minds and bodies, which we often perceive as separate entities. The monologues within the piece primarily delve into the theme of control, emphasizing the importance of self-care, self-reflection, and the recognition that we possess the power to not only endure our traumas but also nurture and heal ourselves.
